Meet Your Islanders: Men's Tennis' Andrew Maingot
Senior Andrew Maingot is in his fourth season playing tennis for the Islanders. During his freshman year, Andrew redshirted for the season. In his sophomore year, Maingot played doubles with teammate Nathan Robinson in the final three Southland matches of the year, helping the team win a third-straight league title, and picked up a win in doubles against No. 58 Iowa alongside Robinson. He also won at No. 4 singles against Centenary for his only singles win of the year. Maingot teamed with Robert Raguz to beat Texas – Pan American 8-5 at No. 3 doubles during his junior season, avenging the only team loss from a year before.
Now in Andrew's senior year with the Islanders, he played both doubles and singles against No. 56 New Mexico State and will play tonigh at TCU. Read what Maingot had to say to GoIslanders.com.
Q: What made you get interested in tennis?
A: Since my dad is a director of a Country Club, I have just been around it all my life

A: Guillermo Coria
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: Get a job in business and do marketing
Q: What's the best part about playing doubles?
A: Having a partner to talk to and work with as a team
Q: Do you prefer singles are doubles?
Q: What sport teams do you like?
A: Chelsea's soccer team in England, Dallas Cowboys, Rangers and Celtics
Q: What's been your favorite memory with the tennis team?
A: Winning conference my sophomore year, with all the penalties we had and winning without our best guy, we had to work even harder
Q: What does game day look like? Do you have any superstitions?
A: Listen to music before and get comfortable
Q: What is something most people don't know about you?
A: The pride of having the best style on the team
Q: What are your goals for the season?
A: Winning conference, as long as the team is doing good I'm happy
