Islanders men's tennis moves up to No. 60 in latest ITA rankings
The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi men's tennis team moved up three spots in the rankings this week, improving to No. 60 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released Tuesday.
Having reached a high of 54 on the season, the Islanders were ranked No. 63 last week before improving their standing among national peers.
Ranked directly ahead of them are No. 55 DePaul, No. 56 VCU, No. 57 Clemson, No. 58 SMU and No. 59 Boise State. After the Islanders come No. 61 TCU, No. 62 San Francisco, No. 63 UNC Wilmington, No. 64 Penn and No. 65 Arkansas.
Texas A&M - Corpus Christi will have a chance to improve upon their ranking this week when they take part in the Rice Galleria Invite in Houston. In the tournament, the Islanders will take on No. 41 Rice and No. 50 South Florida in addition to a tough Central Florida team just outside the rankings.
They will play UCF first on Friday, USF on Saturday and round out the tournament on Sunday with their match against Rice.
