ISLANDERS LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK ON THE ROAD AGAINST UT ARLINGTON
The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team will look
to bounce back from their first Southland Conference loss in 18
matches when they travel to UT Arlington for a 2 PM match on
Tuesday.
The Islanders come into the match with a record of 7-13
overall and 1-1 in Southland Conference matches. The Mavericks are
4-8 on the year and 1-0 in Southland play.
Last time out, the Islanders took a 6-1 loss to Texas-Pan
American to snap their 17-match Southland Conference winning
streak. Nathan Robinson won at No. 5 singles as he notched the
only point for TAMUCC on the road in Edinburg.
Senior Dmitry Novikov and junior James Langford will lead the
Islander team against the Mavericks. Last season, the Islanders
beat UT Arlington by a 6-1 final at home. The Mavericks are 1-0 in
Southland play with a 6-1 win over the Lamar Cardinals on Mar. 29
in Arlington.
Following the match against UTA, the Islanders will have two
matches left, one against UTSA on Apr. 10 at the Corpus Christi
Country Club and one on the road at Lamar to end the season on Apr.
