The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team has moved up to the #52 spot in the weekly ITA National Rankings, up from #62 the previous week. It is the highest spot of the season for the Islanders, who have been in every Top 75 ranking this season.

TAMUCC is currently 3-3 on the season and has played some very tough competition. The Islanders three wins have come against then #44 Indiana, Nebraska, who is currently ranked #41 in the nation, and Texas-Pan American. The three Islanders losses have come at the hands of the current #47 Radford team, #33 New Mexico and #12 Baylor. TAMUCC men's team has not lost to a team outside of the ITA Top 75 in three years.

The competition just gets tougher for the Islanders, who host the upcoming HEB Tournament of Champions Team Tennis Classic this Friday and Saturday. Every team in the tournament is currently ranked in the ITA Top 75, including #33 New Mexico, #35 Texas Tech, #50 DePaul, #53 Middle Tennessee, #65 BYU and #73 Western Michigan. The Islanders kick off the tournament with a 9 AM match on Friday morning against Middle Tennessee.
