Top Moment #9: Men's Basketball Shoots Lights Out vs. Southeastern La.

The Islanders men's basketball team wasn't known for its sharpshooting, but you wouldn't know it from the team's penultimate home game of the season, on Feb. 28 at the American Bank Center. The Islanders shot 26-for-43 (60.5 percent) from the field in the 78-64 victory, their first game shooting better than 60 percent since the 2009-10 season.

Johnathan Jordan led the way with an 8-for-9 performance from the field, his only miss of the night a forced layup as the shot clock wound down with just 27 seconds left in the game. The Houston native was 6-for-7 from the inside, 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line on the day. Furthermore, he added six assists against one turnover in the win. He narrowly missed setting a school record for most field goals made without a miss.

Will Nelson added 23 points and nine rebounds, doing most of his damage at the stripe with a 12-for-14 outing. Zane Knowles had a banner day as well, shooting 6-of-7 from the field to post 12 points of his own.

The Islanders closed out the season having gone 4-4 in their last eight conference games, with the four losses all coming to the league's top three teams, all of which advanced to the postseason.
