Daniels averaged 16.2 points and 9.2 rebounds for the D-League's Erie Bayhawks last year before returning to Korea, where he played the previous three seasons. Daniels led Anyang KCG to the 2012 Korean Basketball League championship a year after bringing a title to KCC Egis in the league.
The D-League select team will open its schedule on Sunday, facing the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m. The squad also has games against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves. All games will be televised on NBA TV. For full schedule information, visit NBA.com's summer league page.
Daniels was a key piece of the 2006-07 Islanders team that won the Southland Conference Tournament and advanced to the only NCAA Tournament in school history. That season, he averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds and led the team with 53 blocks. He was named the Conference Player of the Year and the Tournament MVP as he guided the Islanders to the top of the league in their inaugural Southland season.
