Checking in with Coach Wilson – 4-5-12

CORPUS CHRISTI – Islanders Head Men's Basketball Coach Willis Wilson recently spent a few minutes with GoIslanders.com to update the fans on the goings on of his team. Coach Wilson looked back at his first year at the helm of the Islanders in addition to previewing the offseason and year number two for the new coaching staff.

The Islanders had 10 newcomers, including seven freshmen, on last season's roster, which was the youngest in the Southland Conference. A&M – Corpus Christi went 4-12 in Southland play, including road wins over SLC Tournament teams Sam Houston State and UTSA. The Islanders had five freshmen all average over 10 minutes a game, including Johnathan Jordan, who set the program's single season mark for assists in a season with 138.
