Top Performance #8 - JR Nets 26 In Final Home Game Of Career

It was a night to remember for the 2010-11 Islander men's basketball senior class. In their final game at the American Bank Center, the foursome led the way in a 95-83 victory over UT Arlington on March 2. The seniors combined for 60 of the team's 95 total points in the game.

But it was Justin Reynolds who finished his final home game of the season in true style. The fan favorite capped off his home career by scoring a career-high 26 points and adding 10 boards in the victory. The Pearland native went 9-of-14 from the field, draining a trio of threes in leading the team to the win.

He started off red-hot out of the gate, knocking down back-to-back threes to give the Islanders an early lead over the Mavericks. Reynolds scored eight of the team's first 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting in the first five minutes of the game.

Late in the first half, Reynolds knocked down consecutive shots to distance the Islanders from UTA with a 14-point lead just before the break. After the Mavs rallied to trim the deficit to nine points in the opening minute of the second half, Reynolds capped off a 7-0 Islanders run to push the lead back to 16. He later assisted on back-to-back Antonio Topps triples to give the home squad a game-high 21-point lead.

The 95 points were the highest for the Islanders since scoring 98 against Northwestern State on Jan. 16, 2010. Reynolds and his fellow seniors capped off their career by knocking off Central Arkansas in the season finale, 76-69, to finish their tenures with consecutive wins. Reynolds wrapped up his career with 1,242 points, sixth in school history.
