Homecoming Week is Here

Calling all Islanders! Homecoming week is here, which means it's time to celebrate our university and our intercollegiate athletics program. Here's a list of some of the major happenings around the athletics department this week. For a complete list of Homecoming events at the university, click here.

Wednesday, Feb. 2 - Islanders vs. Nicholls - 7 p.m., American Bank Center
Come see your Islanders men's basketball team take on one of the top teams in the Southland, as Nicholls comes to town for a crucial conference matchup. Faculty and staff are eligible to purchase tickets in the Courtside section of the American Bank Center at the discounted rate of $9 each. That's five dollars off the best seats in the house, with no limit as to the number of tickets you buy! Thursday, Feb. 3 - Pep Rally and Lighting of the I - 8:30 p.m., Dugan Wellness Center
PLEASE NOTE LOCATION CHANGE DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
It wouldn't be Homecoming without a pep rally! Meet the basketball coaches and teams and get your Islanders spirit on! The lighting of the "I" is a special Islander tradition that embraces our spirit. The pep rally is free and open to the public. Sponsored by Islanders Athletics. Friday, Feb. 4 - Athletic Hall of Honor Dinner - 5:30 p.m., University Center, Lone Star Ballroom
Intercollegiate athletics plays a special part in boosting campus spirit and developing quality and teamwork among the students. And our alumni follow the Islanders as they compete throughout the nation. Join us for a reception and dinner ceremony recognizing many of our former athletes. Be a part of the special induction of new members into the Athletic Hall of Honor. Tickets: $30. For more information, call 361-825-3237.

Saturday, Feb. 5 - I-Association Reception - 5:30 p.m., American Bank Center, Third Floor
The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi athletics department will welcome all former Islanders letterwinners to the inaugural I-Association Homecoming Reception prior to the men's basketball game against Northwestern State. All former Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Islanders letterwinners are invited to attend the reception, which will be held on the third floor of the American Bank Center, above the Gentleman Jack's Lounge. Those wishing to attend must purchase a ticket to Saturday's Homecoming game. Tickets can be purchased at GoIslanders.com or by calling 361-825-BALL (2255). Saturday, Feb. 5 - Islanders vs. Northwestern State - 7 p.m., American Bank Center
The conclusion of Homecoming week will be at the American Bank Center with a men's basketball matchup against Northwestern State. The Islanders are in the thick of the Southland conference race, so be sure to make it out for this crucial contest. Faculty and staff are eligible to purchase tickets in the Courtside section of the American Bank Center at the discounted rate of $9 each.
