ISLANDERS CLOSE HOMESTAND WITH A VISIT FROM DUSTDEVILS
The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team closes out its three-game homestand Wednesday night when Texas A&M International comes to town for a 7 p.m. contest at the American Bank Center.
The game will be carried live on ESPN 1230 KSIX with live stats and video available on www.goislanders.com.
The Islanders have gone 2-0 in the first two games of the homestand to improve to 3-2 on the season. The Dustdevils earned their first win of the season on Monday night downing Sul Ross State 67-63.
In the last game, A&M-Corpus Christi defeated St. Edward's 75-66 at the Dugan Wellness Center. The Islanders had four players in double figures. Justin Reynolds and Terence Jones led the way with 16 points, while Kevin Palmer had 15. Reynolds added 10 rebounds for his eighth career double-double and a personal-best four steals. For Jones, the 16 points were a career-best as were his six assists.
For the Dustdevils, Christian Jones led the team with 19 points in their first win of the season over Sul Ross. St. Paul Latham is the leading scorer on the season with 13.3 points a game. Jones is second for TAMUI with 10.3 ppg. Will Faiive leads the team with four rebounds a contest.
Following Wednesday's game, the Islanders return to the road for four straight games beginning with a trip to Oxford, Miss. this Sunday. They will face the Rebels at 3:30 p.m.
