Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball head coach Perry Clark has announced the addition of combo guard Michael Bables to the men's basketball roster.

Bables joins the Islanders after completing his prep career at Poteet High School in Mesquite. The 6-1 guard finished his career by averaging 14.7 points, with six assists and a steal per game in helping lead the Pirates to a 15-14 record. He was an all-district and all-area selection. Poteet reached the playoffs in three out of his four seasons with the team including a bi-district championship his sophomore season.

"Michael is a young man that is an extremely hard worker," said Clark. "We think he was overlooked by a lot of programs initially because he didn't participate in a summer program. He definitely has the ability to add to our program."

Bables joins an experienced squad led by last year's Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year Kevin Palmer. The roster includes 10 returnees including all five starters from a team that finished 18-15. In the process, the Islanders doubled their win total in their second season under Clark and reached the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament.
