The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will look to move to 2-0 in the Southland Conference on Wednesday night when it hosts Texas State at the American Bank Center at 7 p.m. It is Caller-Times Family Night at the game with a family four-pack of tickets available for $25.

The Islanders enter the contest 1-0 in the Southland Conference and 7-9 overall. The Bobcats are also 1-0 on the season and 8-6 on the year. In two games against Texas State a year, Justin Reynolds averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. Brandon Bush averaged 16 points and four rebounds to lead Texas State.

The Islanders enter the game after a strong showing against Central Arkansas in the SLC opener. TAMUCC won 70-44 over the Bears holding the visitors to the fourth lowest point total in program history. The Islanders limited UCA to 12 field goals and three assists, which are both all-time lows by the hosts.

Kevin Palmer led the Islanders with 17 points, while Filip Toncinic and Demond Watt each had 14. Watt recorded the second double-double of his career with 10 rebounds, while also blocking four shots.

Texas State is third in the country in points per game and defeated defending conference tournament champion UT Arlington 87-76. The win was their sixth straight. Brent Benson leads the hosts in scoring with 18.9 points a game while Brandon Bush is second at 14.5.
