After being drafted in early July by the Harlem Globetrotters, former Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi basketball player Will Bullard will sign a contract for the legendary barnstorming team on Monday.
Bullard, who completed his eligibilty was known for his high-flying abilities with the Islanders. Last spring, he finished second at the State Farm College Slam Dunk Contest held in San Antonio in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four.
"I got the call when I was at a gas station," said Bullard. "When I got the news I started to cry. I have come from nothing to something where I can help my family. Being able to help my family is a big thing for myself."
Bullard will report to New York City on Sept. 28 where the team will begin training for the upcoming season.
