Islanders Dance Places 11th at NDA Collegiate Championships
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 2013 Islanders Dance Team wrapped competition today in the finals of the Division I Open at the National Dance Alliance Collegiate National Championships in the Peabody Auditorium. The Islanders performed their sassy jazz routine and placed 11th out of the 21 teams with a score of 8.790. Sam Houston State won the title for the second year in a row with a score of 9.678.
"For our first year of making finals on our first try is amazing and I'm very excited for the girls," Head Coach Melanie Lowry said. "The fact that we placed 11th in the country speaks volume for the program. They went out there and did what we asked them to do and that's all I can ask for."
