CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi dance team will be previewing its National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and the National Dance Alliance (NDA) Collegiate National Championships dance routine on Tuesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. in the Fieldhouse on the campus of Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. The event, which will last approximately 30 minutes, is free and open to the public.
"We would love to have the community come out and cheer on our team as we perform our routine publicly," Head Cheer and Dance Coach Melanie Lowry said. "Our dancers have worked so hard on this routine, and they get really pumped up when they get to perform in front of big crowds. It should be a fun event for our team and for spectators alike."
The Islanders will be performing a high energy jazz this year and are looking to defend their National Championship from a year ago at the Division I American Dance/Drill Team Collegiate Championships on Saturday, March 23. The team will then compete at the NCA/NDA Collegiate National Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. on April 10-14.
