CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi baseball team will host a midweek game for its final time this season, as Houston-Victoria will come to Chapman Field on Tuesday. First pitch against the Jaguars is set for 6 p.m.
The Islanders (22-19) are currently riding a four-game winning streak, most recently completing a three-game sweep of Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. In two of the three games, A&M – Corpus Christi earned victories in comeback fashion, including scoring four runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game in the series opener, before going on to win in 13 innings.
Brandon Tierney had a phenomenal series, as he went 9-of-13 and also had two walks and two hit by pitches for a .765 on-base percentage to go along with two home runs and six RBIs. He now owns a 12-game hit streak, including five consecutive three-hit games, and has multi-hit games in eight of the last nine with nine RBIs.
Tierney has seen his batting average climb to .362 during his hit streak. This mark leads the team, and is currently the second highest in the Southland Conference. Joining him with a double-digit hit streak is Tyler Ware, who is one game back at 11 consecutive games.
On the mound, Jacob Dorris and Kevin Landgrebe had an outstanding series, as the duo went 10 2/3 innings, giving up two hits and no runs, while picking up two wins by Landgrebe to go along with two saves by Dorris.

D'Spain comes into the game not allowing a run in his last three outings, while striking out four in his last 2 2/3 innings pitched.
He will be facing a UHV (19-26) team that is hitting .265 as a unit. Leading the Jaguars is Ryan Suescun who paces the team in batting average (.381), triples (3), RBIs (79), slugging percentage (.470) on-base percentage (.459) and stolen bases (15).
