Baseball Participates in First 2014 Practice
CORPUS CHRISTI - After a cold front blew through the Coastal Bend on Friday delaying the start of the season, the Texas A&M – Corpus Christi baseball team conducted its first practice of 2014.
The Islanders have about three weeks of practice before opening the season at Texas Pan American on Feb. 14. The team will have several holes to fill in its lineup after losing some key players from last year's squad that finished second in the Southland Conference.
However, there are big expectations out of this team with a host of newcomers that are expected to make an immediate impact. A&M – Corpus Christi has even garnered some preseason attention, as it was picked to repeat a second-place finish in the Southland by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and even received votes in its preseason poll.
Hear what head coach Scott Malone and players had to say about getting back on the diamond in the video below and check out a photo gallery HERE from today's practice.
