Ware Named Jayhawk League Top Prospect
CORPUS CHRISTI – After a successful summer season with the El Dorado Broncos, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi newcomer Tyler Ware has been named the Jayhawk League's top prospect by Perfect Game.
Ware, who is joining the Islanders this season after transferring from Iowa Western, was tied for 13th in the league with a .301 batting average. During his time with the Broncos, he also belted out six home runs and drove in 17 runs.
As a freshman for Iowa Western he spent most of his time on the mound, as he pitched 43.0 innings while giving up 14 earned runs for a 2.93 ERA. He notched a 2-to-1 K/BB ratio after striking out 28 and walking just 14 batters.
