The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Baseball team will be back home this weekend when it hosts the Northwestern State Demons in a Southland Conference weekend series at Chapman Field.
Friday night is scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch on the diamond, with Saturday coming at 5 p.m. and the finale starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
The Islanders (19-13, 6-3 Southland) will look to keep its Southland Conference winning streak going, with the team winning five straight league contests after beating Oral Roberts in the final two of that series, and then sweeping Nicholls last weekend on the road. The Demons (10-23, 1-8 Southland) are coming off of a 1-2 weekend against Central Arkansas, winning the first game by a 1-0 final, then falling 2-1 in 11 innings on Saturday and 7-4 in the finale.
Trevor Foss (5-3, 2.89 ERA) will get the start on the mound for the Islanders, while Trevor Belicek (4-1, 3.82 ERA) will go on Saturday and Matt Danton (3-1, 3.58 ERA) will round out the series on Sunday. Cody Butler (1-2, 5.50 ERA) will start for the Demons on Friday, with either Robert Baker starting on Saturday and Sunday TBA, or vice versa.
