CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi baseball team hosted its annual scout day on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Chapman Field. Eighteen teams sent their professional scouts to get a closer look at the Islanders' draft-eligible players and future prospects.
The team started the day with defensive drills – an infield/outfield session and throws by the team's catchers. The Islanders followed that by running the 60-yard dash, where the Islanders had six players run better than a 6.7. Several hitters then took a round of batting practice and the Islanders concluded the day with a brief scrimmage, giving the scouts the opportunity to see eight members of the Islanders pitching staff.
