Islanders Head to Houston for First Road Test of the Year
The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi baseball team will play away from Chapman Field for the first time this season on Tuesday when they head to Houston to face UH. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Cougar Baseball Field
The Islanders are 3-1 on the season after splitting games on Saturday against Nebraska Omaha and sweeping the Sunday doubleheader at Chapman Field. Houston is 3-0 after a sweep of visiting Delaware this past weekend.
For the Islanders, right-hander Daniel Minor will get the nod on the mound. Minor saw two innings of action against UNO last weekend, tossing two innings of perfect baseball, allowing no hits or walks while striking out four-of-six batters he faced.
For Houston, lefty Matt Hernandez will get the start. The junior pitched one inning for UH against the Blue Hens, giving up no hits without a walk or a strikeout.
The two transfers will square off in the evening contest with the Islander looking to pick up the first road win of the year, while Houston looks to remain unbeaten through four games.
