Meet Your Islanders: Baseball's Philly Garcia
Philip Garcia, better know as Philly among his teammates and coaches, is a senior pitcher for the Texas A&M – Corpus Christi baseball team. A year ago, the right-hander made his was into the record books with a six-save performance on the year, setting the new single-season mark for saves in a season by an Islanders pitcher. He helped the team to a school-record 37 wins and a semifinals appearance in the Southland Conference Tournament.

Q: What is your biggest personal moment as a baseball player?
A: Making a run in the conference tournament
Q: What do you think was the biggest win of the year last season?
A: Todd Simko pitching a good game against Southeastern Louisiana and turning the season back around
Q: What is your most memorable baseball game?
A: Pitching against SHSU to get the single-season saves record
Q: What are your career plans after baseball?
A: Coaching the sport of baseball because of my love of the game and getting to help kids get better at the sport.
