Weston Montgomery added a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while four others had two-hit days. The Islanders bashed 18 hits in the game, with Montgomery, Jacob Perales and Logan Nottebrok each posting doubles. David Pfuntner went 5-for-5 in the loss for HBU.

Chris Hernandez was tagged with the loss for the Huskies after allowing seven runs in the second inning.
Neither team scored in the first inning, but in the second the bats came alive for both squads. After HBU plated four runs on five hits off Roy Ferdin, the Islanders countered by putting seven on the board in the bottom of the inning. Perales and Bobby Buckner led off with consecutive singles, then Nottebrok went the other way on an 0-2 pitch and drilled an RBI double to the right-center gap to make it 4-1.
Vergne followed and ripped a double to score two more, then Caleb Marx moved the senior to third on a flyball. Dan Sciantarelli got into the mix next, delivering an RBI single to knot the score at 4-4. Montgomery followed with a double, and two batters later Matt Holland ripped a single to right to score both men, giving the Islanders a 6-4 advantage. Perales then had his second hit of the inning, delivering a double to right for a 7-4 lead.
HBU got two runs back in the top of the fourth, but the Islanders responded in the bottom of the fifth. Buckner led the inning off with a single and he was followed by Nottebrok's second hit of the game. Vergne followed with an RBI double just inside the first-base bag that sent Nottebrok to third. Two batters later, Sciantarelli delivered a sac fly to left center for a 9-6 lead.
In the eighth, the Islanders plated a pair of insurance runs to make it 11-6. Montgomery led off with a single, and gave way to pinch-runner Drew Vest. Vest stole second and moved to third on a balk, then came home when Jumpy Garcia's bloop single fell into right to push the Islanders lead to 10-6. Garcia later stole second and came home when Jeramie Marek singled to center for an 11-6 lead in favor of the home squad.
The Huskies rallied in the ninth off Michael Boyle. After the first two batters reached on hits to score one run, a second run came around on a trio of wild pitches to make it 11-8. Boyle gave way to Philip Garcia with the tying run at the plate. The junior got a grounder to short that went for a 6-3 double play to end the game for his second save of the season.
