Perales got a one-out single to start things in the frame, and two batters later Jeramie Marek reached on a walk. With two down, Buckner grounded to third, but the throw from Zach Tisdale sailed down the right-field line to score a pair of Islanders and make it 4-3.
Then, in the ninth, the Islanders plated four runs on just one hit. Montgomery led off with a walk and Chris Vergne followed with a walk of his own. After Trey Hernandez lined out, Matt Holland was hit by a pitch to load the bags for Perales. The senior drew a walk to score the tying run, leaving the bases loaded for Garcia with one away. The junior shot a soft liner into right field to plate two runs for a 6-4 Islanders lead. Marek added a sac fly to put the Islanders up three. Boyle then retired the side in the ninth for the victory.

After Bergeron moved up on a stolen base, Beau Faulk singled him home on a base hit to left for a 2-0 lead.
Small ball allowed Nicholls to push the lead to 3-0. LeGrange led off with a bunt single, then two groundouts moved him to third. But Lyons delivered the big hit, as an infield single deep in the hole to short scored LeGrange for a three-run edge.
The Islanders finally cracked the scoreboard in the top of the seventh. Sean Washington got a one-out single, and he was immediately followed by Montgomery ripping an RBI double to left center to make it 3-1. But Webster was able to retire the next two hitters to emerge without further damage. Nicholls added a run in the bottom of the seventh on a solo homer by Chase Jaramillo for a 4-1 advantage before the Islanders started their rally in the eighth.
