2011 (SENIOR): Made seven appearances on the season, including one start … went 0-2 with a 9.35 ERA … tossed a scoreless inning at Houston Baptist (3/1) … went 2 1/3 scoreless in the first game of the Texas Tech Invitational (3/12) … had a shutout frame against UT-Brownsville (3/22) … picked up a start at Rice (4/20).

 

2010 (JUNIOR): Appeared in nine games during the season for the Islanders, starting one … threw 13 innings with nine strikeouts … had an ERA of 9.00 … tossed a scoreless inning in each game against Texas – Pan American (3/30 and 4/27) … collected the win in his only start of the year, scattering four hits and a walk in five innings of work against Sam Houston State (5/21).

Blinn Junior College: Spent two seasons at Blinn Junior College with coach Harvey McIntyre … Buccaneers finished 41-16 in 2009 after going 27-29 his freshman year … team qualified for regionals both seasons … finished 8-2 with a 4.08 ERA in 71 innings as a sophomore … earned all-star honors as a freshman after recording a 6-2 mark with a 3.25 ERA and three complete games in 52 2/3 IP.

High School: Prepped at New Braunfels for Peter Garza … posted a 10-0 mark as a senior with a 3.15 ERA as team finished 30-6 … two-way threat hit .360 with a home run, 17 RBI and 28 runs scored … selected all-district and all-state in 2007 and academic all-district as a junior and senior.

Personal: Trenton Irwin was born March 15, 1989, in San Antonio … son of R.C. and Susan Irwin … has an older brother Russell … majoring in health sciences.
