2011 (SENIOR): Appeared in 13 games and made seven starts … went 5-4 with a 7.31 ERA … struck out 20 batters in 32 innings of work … got the win over Oregon State (2/26) with five solid innings … allowed one earned run over 6 2/3 frames in a win over Iowa (3/14) … struck out the side in his lone inning against UT Brownsville (3/22) … posted 1 2/3 shutout innings against Houston Baptist (3/29) … threw six strong frames at UHV (4/7), allowing three runs and punching out eight.
2010 (REDSHIRT): Missed the 2010 season after suffering a season-ending injury, and was redshirted.
2009 (JUNIOR): Toed the rubber in 17 games with nine starts … posted a 3-7 record in 46 2/3 innings with a 7.14 ERA … tied for team lead with three wins … finished with a 2-3 record in Southland Conference action in 23 innings … held opposing hitters to a .259 average which was tops on the team in Southland Conference games … permitted just three home runs on the season … earned first victory as an Islander versus Texas Tech (3/17), tossing two innings of 3-hit, 1-run relief in a 7-5 Islanders win … followed Texas Tech outing with his second win by tossing six shutout innings against McNeese State (3/21) at Chapman Field … earned third win as a junior over Stephen F. Austin (4/9) as he matched his career high with four strikeouts in five innings … also had four Ks against Alabama (3/5) early in the season.
Wharton Junior College: Started two seasons for Bob Nottebart at Wharton Junior College … led the team in strikeouts, innings pitched and games started as a sophomore … posted a 3-2 record with a 2.11 ERA.
High School: Played for coach Stacy Schiener at Caney Creek High School in Conroe … posted a 7-3 record as a senior with a 2.73 ERA … named first-team all-district as a pitcher in 2004, 2005 and 2006 … also lettered in football, where he was twice named first-team all-district at quarterback, while also running track and playing basketball.
