Texas A&M-Corpus Christi junior Trey Hernandez has been named the Louisville Slugger National Hitter of the Week on Monday by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

Hernandez earned the honor after blasting four home runs in four games and driving in 14 runs. He had two-home runs and six runs batted in against Nebraska on Friday driving in a career-high six. He was 10-of-20 at the plate with a slugging percentage of 1.100 and a .524 on-base percentage.

It is the second time in his career that he has been recognized by a national publication for his performance during a week. As a freshman, Hernandez was recognized by PING! Baseball as one of its spotlight players. He earned the honor in 2008 after hitting .714 for a week with five home runs and 14 RBI over five games with TCU, Baylor and Nicholls.
