Elia joined the Islanders in 2014 and serves as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for women’s soccer, where she oversees all aspects of managing athletes’ recoveries, injury prevention and game preparation.
The Taunton, Mass., native is pursuing her master’s degree, while assisting with the A&M-Corpus Christi undergraduate athletic training program as a preceptor, mentoring clinical students about the profession.
Prior to coming to the Island, Elia worked in full year clinical rotations with Holy Cross men’s lacrosse, Harvard University football and Bentley women’s basketball. She has volunteered her skills at the Boston Marathon in 2013 and 2014, as well as the Bay State Games.
Elia received her athletic training certification in May 2014 after graduating from Lasell College with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training.
