Julie Ellena is in her fourth year at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She is responsible for providing athletic training services for men's and women's cross country and track and field.
Prior to coming to the Island University, Ms. Ellena was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where she worked with women's basketball and men's and women's track and field. She also worked for NBC Camps, LLC. for several summers where she provided athletic training services for basketball and volleyball camps.
She received her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from Oklahoma State University in 2006. She graduated in 2008 from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with her Masters of Science in Sports Medicine.
Ms. Ellena is an approved clinical instructor (ACI) for the Islanders Athletics Training Education Program (ATEP). She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and is on the Young Professional Committee for the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association (SWATA). In addition, she serves on the officer's board for the Coastal Bend Athletic Trainers Society (CBATS) as a university representative.
She is from Lawerence, Kan. and currently resides in Corpus Christi.
