Arthur Haas joined the athletic program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in October of 1999 serving as the development officer responsible for building the department's annual giving program, the Tarpon Foundation. Prior to joining Islander athletics, Haas was working as the director of revenue management for the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center in Atlanta, Ga.
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Haas graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1989 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from St. Edwards University in Austin in 1993. Haas' first full time job in sports was as the assistant director of operations for the Corpus Christi Barracudas of the Texas-Louisiana League during the 1995 season. After a year with the Barracudas, Haas began a 3-1/2-year career in the hotel business in Corpus Christi with TRT Holdings - the parent company of Omni Hotels.
Haas' role with the Islanders has evolved over his 10 years here on the Island. Since 2006, he has been responsible for the major revenue sources including fundraising, corporate partnerships, and ticketing. In addition to his day-to-day duties within the University, he has been involved in a number of non-profits efforts here in Corpus Christi including Forward Corpus Christi, Conquer the Coast, National Little League, Ronald McDonald House, Mission 911, YWCA's Reading Rally, Sail Corpus Christi, St. Patrick's Church, and Tejas Management Systems. He is currently serving on the boards of El Socorro - a major fundraising event for the Ronald McDonald House and the National Little League.
He is very proud to have been involved with both Forward Corpus Christi efforts which resulted in the construction of the American Bank Center, Whataburger Field, the refurbishing of the seawall, and the creation of an economic development program to stimulate the Corpus Christi economy.
