In the Community

Community service is an important part of the Islanders Athletics experience. Student-athletes are a key part of the Corpus Christi community, and with everything that the people of the city give to the Islanders, we feel it is important to give back.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee plays a big role in the Islanders’ community service efforts. In conjunction with the Center for Athletic Academic Services and the Student-Athlete Affairs program, SAAC organizes volunteer activities for all Islanders student-athletes. The Islander Athlete Mentor Program also plays a large role in community service for the Islanders.

Recently, the Islanders have volunteered by working with youth sports organizations, reading to elementary school classes, designing floats for the Homecoming Parade and volunteering at the Conquer the Coast bicycle race. The athletics department also has partnerships with the Boys & Girls Club of Corpus Christi and Gloria Hicks Elementary.

To inquire about having the Islanders help with your community service event, please fill out the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Promotional Activities Form and fax it to Islanders Athletics at (361) 825-3218 or scan it to athletics@goislanders.com.
