Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball head coach Scott Malone announced the tenth member of its 2009 recruiting class as Josh Meade has signed to join the Islanders.

Meade is a 6’0” 195-pound catcher/outfielder from Hayward High School in Hayward, Wisc. As a junior, Meade, who has started for the varsity since his freshman season, hit .458 with eight home runs and 46 runs batted in. He has twice been named all-conference and all-district as a catcher and was chosen to participate in the Perfect Game National Showcase. During the summer, Meade plays for the Midwest Blazers.

"Adding Josh to our recruiting class is the perfect finish to the early signing period,” said Malone. “Josh is an outstanding left-handed hitter and a solid defender behind the plate. He is advanced enough as a hitter to hit in the middle of our lineup as a freshman. Josh was heavily recruited by several programs through out the Midwest and the East Coast.”
